CLYDE SHIPYARDS BUSY.

HIGH SEPTEMBER TOTAL. British Official Wireless. RUGBY, September 30. It is expected that the shipbuilding output of the Clyde this year will be the highest for the past six years. Nine vessels, totalling nearly 30,000 tons, were launched in September, bringing the year's output to date to 74 vessels aggregating nearly 215,000 tons. The 1935 output has already been exceeded and with numerous vessels reaching the launching stage the total tonnage this year may be well over the 300,000-ton mark. This, however, would still be below that of 1930, which was 529,000 tons. The peak year for shipbuilding on the Clyde was 1913, when the tonnage reached a total of 750,970.
