TRUE CONSERVATIVE.
ROOSEVELT REPLY TO CRITICS. NEW YORK, September 30. In a Presidential campaign speech at Syracuse, Mr. Franklin D. Roosevelt replied to charges of Communism which had bee.n levelled against him. The President said the reforms he had instituted had actually prevented a decline into that state which was fostered by the Republicans' policies. "Conditions congenial to Communism were bred and fostered throughout the nation until the Democrats assumed their functions in 1933," said Mr. Roosevelt. He told 10,000 persons who attended the State Democrat convention that he regarded himself as a true Conservative.
