LEG AMPUTATED.
VICTIM OF NATIVE ATTACK. (Received 12.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, this day. Advice from Salamaua, New Guinea, states that an assistant-District Officer, Mr. Nurton, who was one of a party attacked by natives in the Rai Coast area, Madang, on September 24, has had a leg amputated. His condition is serious.
