MONOWAI REFERENDUM.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, this day. The official recount of the votes cast in the Monowai referendum for State control of electric power services show* a total of 8117 votes in favour of thechange. There were 2507 votes for the retention of the board and 900 informal votes. The large percentage of informal votes was due to failure to sign th.? voting paper.
