FOR CITY AND PROVINCE. The Government Meteorologist issued to the "Auckland Star" this afternoon the following special weather forecast for the Auckland, Province to as 'far south as Tauranga, Kawhia and Hamilton:— Light to moderate westerly winds, freshening, and veering to north-west, with the weather for the most part fair and mild, but with some scattered rains probable, more especially in the westerly aspects; seas slight to moderate, but rising on the west coast. An anti-cyclone is centrcd to the north of New Zealand and is moving eastward. The first of a series of westerly depressions is approaching the South Island. For the Dominion. For 24 hours from 9 a.m. to-day: — The indications are for moderate vyes- , terlies, veering to north, and fresheningThere is a prospect of fair weather, but later increasing haze and cloudinessBarometer unsteady with a falling tendency. Seas smooth to moderate. Hauraki Gulf Conditions. The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf was received from Tiritiri Island at noon to-day: Wind, south-west, fresh; sea, moderate to rough; weather, cloudy and fine witsi occasional showers; visibility, good; barometer, steady. x
