PRICE OF ORANGES.
I readily join with "Pro Bono Publico in the protest at the very high price of oranges in New Zealand. It is high time some sensible agreement with Australia was reached —if they will not buy our potatoes, let us not cut off our own noses by doing without enoug of their oranges. I am tired of hearing doctors and dietitians and others advising us to gn© our children oranges. None of them tells us how to -Jget the oranges if we have not got the necessary money to pay the extortionate price. As a mother of three small children i know just how hard it is to give the little ones a fair share of the health-giving juice. My husband and I could do with more oranges also, but at the price we go without so that the children may have just enough. We hope the Minister of Health will see into the position for the sake of the less fortunate, who can purchase even fewer oranges thau we . , ANNE EDGE.
