LADY DECORATOR CHOSEN.

(Received 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, Se/pt-ember 1. The "Evening News" learns that King Edward has entrusted to Lady Mendl, the American wife of Sir Charles Mendl, Press attache, British Embassy, Paris, the supervision of redecoration of his personal rooms in Buckingham Palace. Lady Mendl directed the interior decorations of Port Belvedere, the King's country house. Lady Mendl was formerly Miss Elsie de Wolfe, and was married in 192 G. She wrote "After All" last year. The marriage caused an international surprise in society on both sides of the Atlantic as Miss Elsie de Wolfe was a New York actress and society woman.
