JUNIOR AFFAIRS. DEATH OF PLAYER. OXE MINUTE'S SILEXCE. As a mark of respect to the memory of Gordon Candy, of tlie Technical Old Boys' Club, who was fatally injured on the playing field last Saturday, the junior management board of the Auckland Rugby Union decided last night to ensure that all junior teams observed one minute's silence prior to the commencement of their matches next Saturday. A motion of con-dolence to the player's parents was passed, members standing in silence.

It was decided to inform the Pukekohe Union that September ll> would be a suitable date for tlie return match at Auckland between the Pukekohe junior and Auckland intermediate representative teams. Mr. 0. Addison was asked to select a junior team to play the l'ukekohe seniors, at l'ukekohe, on September 12, and to act as manager of tlie Auckland team. Ttie following teams were granted permission to travel: —September 15: l'arnell fourth grade, to Thames; I'onsonb.v intermediates, - to Morrinsville; University juniors, to I-lelensville. September 12: North Shore fourth and flftli grades, to Hamilton; Grammar intermediates, to Hamilton. The board congratulated the Takapuna Club upon the work it had done in fostering tlie code in its area and npon the construction of a line training shed. The Tainaki Club was granted use of tliQ St. Heller's ground next Saturday. It was decided to play the third grade final on the same date. The Panmnre Club protested against tlie shont tiiue played in its match against Xorthcot,? last Saturday. It was resolved to inform tlie Panmnre Club that the time played was agreed upon by both captains before the commencement of the giune. It was decided to finalise the sixth grade competition next Saturday, unless two teams tied, in which case a final would be played. The following ground officials were appointed for next Saturday:—Uribble Hirst Park, ! Mr. C. Addison : Victoria Park, Mr. J. B.; Proud; Domain, Mr. A. I-.
