WEATHER FORECAST.
FOR CITY AND PROVINCE. Tlie Government Meteorologist issued to the "Auckland Star" this afternoon the following special weather forecast for the Auckland Province to as far south as Tauratiga, Kawhia and Hamilton: — , Strong 60uth-west to westerly winds, reaching gale force in places, gradually tending more southerly. Weather cold and changeable, with passing showers, but improving slowly. Seas rough to high on the west coast and rather rough to rough on the east. The recent cyclone is now centred south of Chatham Island. An intense anti-cyclone covers south-eastern Australia, and is moving eastward. For the Dominion. For 24 hours from 9 a.m. this day: The indications are for westerly winds, strong to gale, and backing to south. Weather probably cold and changeable, with passing showers, but gradually improving. Barometer rising. Seas rough. Hauraki Gulf Conditions. The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf was received from Tiritiri Island at noon to-day: — Wind west-south-west, fresh to strong; sea rough; weather boisterous with heavy rain squalls; visibility fair; barometer a slight falling tendency.
