COSTUME DANCE.
OTAHUHU TRANSPORT CLUB.
The Social Hall of the Passenger Transport Club at Otahuhu presented a gay scene on*' Saturday evening, when a special costume dance was held, the success of the function being due to the special arrangements made by the committee, Messrs. F. Slinger, V. Brown, N. Thomas and H. Lovell. Humorous items provided by the "Comical Quartet," Messrs. V. Brown, T. Ryan, T. Festel and L. Woods, were warmly applauded, and competitions were won as follows: — Best character costume, Mr. T. Festil; statue log cabin, Mr. K. Todd and Miss C. Kay; spot waltz, Mr. and Mrs. N. Thomas. Messrs. N. Kirkham, F. Slinger and. H. Lovell acted as masters of ceremonies.
Included in the guests were: Mesdames Kirkham, sen., N. Kirkham, H. Kirkham, V. Brown, F. Slinger, L. Meredith, R.' Carter, N. Thomas, H. C. Pettit, R. McConochie, Waston (Napier), R. Lawrence, G. Edmonds, M. Owens L. Woods, S. Wells, Haire, C. Kay and Misses Pat Nicholson, Rita McConochie, E. Meredith, J. Edmonds, C. Kay and Hay.
