Walter Nash, that as a result of negotiations between overseas shipping companies' representatives, the New Zealand Government and the New Zealand Meat Producers' Board, a new shipping freight contract had been signed covering all refrigerated cargo exported from the Dominion to Great Britain and other destinations covered by the terms of the contract, which will remain effective for three years. The new rates represent an increase of approximate!}' 2J per cent over the present rates. "I am very satisfied with the new contract rates," said Mr. Nash, when making the announcement, "and I appreciate the excellent work that has been done by the Government's representatives of the New Zealand Meat Producers' Board."
