INHUMAN ACT.

MURDER OF NURSES. Arab Committee Deplores Fate Of Jewish Women. FIRST EXPRESSION OF REGRET. United Press Association.—Copyright. (Received 10 a.in.) JERUSALEM, August 18. Inhabitants of Jaffa must remain in their houses 21 hours from 8 a.m. to-day, partly as a punishment for the murder of Jewish nurses and partly to prevent clashes - between Arabs and Jews. Military reinforcements have drawn a cordon round the town. The service of goods and passenger trains between Jaffa and Tel Aviv has been suspended. The fir&t Arab expression of regret for violence since April comes from the National Committee at Jaffa, which deplores the atrocious outrage on nurses, and adds that whatever the race of the nurses, such a deed could come only from men devoid of human pity.
