Swedish Ambulance Unit's Many Hardships. NATIVES VOW TO FIGHT ON. (Received 10.30 a.m.) NAIROBI, August 16. A Swedish ambulancc unit from Ethiopia has arrived here after a two months' march. They were often in great danger, natives thinking them Italians. When they reached the border of Kenya, most members were too weak to proceed further. Two were able to keep going and found the British District Commissioner's camp, and lie si-Vit an expedition which brought them safely here. Members believe that several American missionaries were killed in South Abyssinia. They say Ras Desta and many other chiefs have sworn to continue ceaseless guerilla warfare against the Italians. ON SILASSIE'S LAND. Italians Forming Black Shirt Colo. ies. BANK TO BE WOUND UP. (Received 1 p.m.) ADDIS ABABA, August 16. The Government has confiscated Haile Silassie's private estates for establishment of agricultural colonies on them when the rains cease. First colonists will be Black Shirts remaining in Abyssinia. A section of the Italian Treasury has been established, and the Bank of Ethiopia will be wound up on September 1.
Haile Silassie intends to remain in England for some time.
