HOWICK TOWN BOARD. A meeting of the Howick Town Board was held last evening, Mr. H. H. Bushel! r presiding. j Gibraltar. Crescent Reserve. -— It was | decided to fence this reserve and cooperate with the Horticultural and [ Beautifying Society in planting it with native trees. Reticulation of Buekland's Beach.—A report of the conference with -the repre- ; sentatives of the Manukau County Council t and Buckland's Beach Progressive Association was submitted by Mr.' G. Bell, chairman of the waterworks -committee. It was decided to take steps to supply all consumers in Howick with water through meters.' The new system of supply is to come into force on April 1 nest. At the request of the Manukau County Council it was also decided to further test the capacity of the well, and the well will be submitted to a continuous pumping test of three days' duration, commencing on Monday next. Resurfacing of Roads.—The foreman was instructed to have the resurfacing of all roads completed by the end of the month. Landing Reserve. —The solicitor reported that the proclamation proclaiming the landing reserve at the foot of Grey Street a road would be through as soon as the survey was completed. It was decided J to plant the portion of the reserve fronting the beach with phoenix palms. WARKWORTH TOWN BOARD. (From Our Own Correspondent.) WARKWORTH, Thursday. _ The usual meeting of the Warkworth Town Board was held on Tuesday, Mr. L. A. Petherick presiding. Road Improvements.—The clerk reported on the arrangements made with property-owners in the main street in connection with land required for widening purposes. Confirmation of By-laws.—By-laws drawn up governing building operations in the Xo. 1 building area of the town district 1 were confirmed. , Town Hall Extensions.—The chairman reported on the progress made. in connec- J tion with the board's proposal to borrow i the sum of £3000 for the purpose of (I) enlarging the Town Hall to provide seat-1 ing accommodation for 750; (2) equipping! the hall to serve as both a picture theatre ] and hall; (3) erecting municipal offices; i and conveniences. It was decided to sub-1 • mit the proposal to a poll of ratepayers to be taken on Friday, September 11.
