AUGUST HOLIDAY.
LONG-DISTANCE TRAVEL. British Official Wireless. RUGBY, August 3. The features of the August bank holiday this year are the large amount of long distance traffic and the heavy demand for sleeping accommodation on night expresses. There were 30.000 seat bookings for Saturday on trains leaving Waterloo station alone. It is reported by the Southern Railway Company that over the entire country about 2000 extra trains were run. The air traffic during the week-end is expected to be notably larger than last year.
