TAKANINI HORSES
THURWIND GOES WELL. BOW YANG ALSO IMPRESSES. The middle grass track, with the going cutting out a little, was available for fast work at Takanini this morning. Surella, looking exceptionally well, hit out pleasingjy over three furlongs in 40 2-ss. Anion and Valamito were sent three furlongs, completing their task in 41 2-os without being unduly bustled. Lapis Lazuli and Mal-de-Jler shaped well while running two furlongs in 265, Mal-de-Mer impressing most. Improvement and Kaiwaka completed a round by running their last three furlongs in 425. Joyzelle worked sluggishly over three furlongs. Thunvind, a novice in J. Cruze's stable, traversed three furlongs in 39 2-ss, this being the best of the morning over the distance. Bowyang easily held the Lysarider—lnlaid gelding over two furlongs in 25 4-ss. Bowyang went really well. Royal Passage was too good for Doric Star at the end of three furlongs in 425. Doric Star pulled up sound. Rotboon was three lengths in front of Maori Song at the conclusion of half a mile in 555. Elanege beat Love Parade comfortably over two furlongs. High Quality and Choice completed their work, with a sprint down the straight. Flood Tide was allotted a round, increasing the pace to run his last two furlongs in 275. He v.vas going well within himself at the end. Lady Ruler and Survanna, separately, were sprinted down the straight. Gay Talkie, Precise and War Picture jumped off from the five-furlong peg. War Picture dropped out after the first two furlongs, which took 28s, and the other pair completed cheir task in 1.13. Lord Willonyx and Merry Lap were associated over half a mile, which took 575, the former doing best.
