FATAL INJURIES.
MAN'S FALL UNDER ENGINE. MEMBER OF STEAMER'S CREW. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, this day. Fatal injuries were suffered by Mr. Alfred Thomson, aged 45, a member of the crew of the steamer Northumberland, which is at present at Bluff, when ho fell beneath an engine at Bluff last l»ight. His right leg was severed below the knee and he died in the Southland Hospital at 11.30 p.m. without regaining consciousness.
