BRING AND BUY.
KUMEU CROQUET CLUB,
In order to assist the funds of the newly-formed croquet club at Pomona, Kumeu, a pleasant afternoon was arranged by the committee in the Kumeu Hall on Saturday afternoon. Gaily decorated stalls and amusing sideshows did brisk business, while the many competitions were the cause of much interest. Croquet ladder was played, the winner being Mr. G. Farley. Mrs. Harris was the winner of the dressed doll competition, Miss Joan Hill the iced cake, Mrs. S. Sherwood the fancy basket, and Mrs. R. P. Dane the Sunday dinner. The various stalls were arranged by and in charge of the following: Produce, Mrs. Lambden and Mrs. H. Bull; fancy, Mrs. Barter; cakes, Mrs. Wilson; sweets, Mrs. Farley; afternoon tea, Mrs. E. Cooke, Mrs. Gooding, Mrs. A. Pearman and helpers; bran tub, Miss June Lambden.
