GIFT OF PAINTINGS.
| WELLINGTON HARBOUR VIEWS (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Three' pictures by New Zealand artists—"Shipping, Wellington Harbour/' by Sydney.L. Thompson; "Wellington Harbour," by Archibald F. Ni.coll; and "Lambton Harbour, from Khandallah Track," by Nugent Welch— have now been completed, and should prove a welcome addition to the National Art Gallery. The paintings have been presented to the gallery by the Wellington Harbour Board, which commissioned the • painters to paint them for that purpose.
The paintings have been greatly adiliired by all who have seen them. They were oflicially handed over to the trustees of the National Art Gallery at a ceremony last night.
