DOMINION UNION.
TRAMWAY MOVEMENT. POSITION IN AUCKLAND. The tramwaymen oT Auckland are still considering the movement launched several months back for the formation of a Dominion union, according to the secretary of the Auckland Tramway Employees' Union, Mr. J. Liddell.
When the statement that the Christchurch union had decided to take no further part in the movement was referred to him this morning, Mr. Liddell said that all the proposals had been placed before a recent meeting of members of the Auckland union, aqd the newly elected committee was directed to bring down a report regarding the Dominon union scheme, in view of the altered circumstances. "I consider we must act with prudence, in the circumstances which have arisen," lie added.
As outlined in the Christchurch message a necessary preparatory step towards the formation cf a national union is the dissolution of the existing district unions, and then again there is a question of the distribution of the finances of the various unions, a matter on which tramwaymen may differ.
