A farewell was accorded the goodwill mission yesterday by a large assembly at Mulinuu, the seat of. tlie native Government and the burial place of Samoan kings. The ceremony was arranged by representatives of the Malo. The Malo is the section of the community which, down the years, has remained loyal to the Government and kept aloof from all the Mau activities.
Speakers complimented the delegates from New Zealand on their efforts to restore harmony among all the people in' Samoa, and expressed the hope that their labours would not be in vain. Members of the party and their wives were presented with beautifully made mats and other articles, and later entertained at a feast.
Natives from all parts of the territory are pouring into Apia to welcome Mr. 0. P. Nelson, who is arriving by the Maui Pomare this afternoon. At Vaimoso, the Mau headquarters, elaborate preparations are being made for the reception of the exiled leader. Hundreds of pigs are being killed for a big feast.
