LIFE SENTENCE.
German Journalist Offends Nazi' Officials. GIVING AWAY INFORMATION. (Received 10.30 a.m.) BERLIN, July 22. After proceedings, held in camera, Herr Walter Schwerdferger, a journalist on the "Borsen Zeitung," was sentenced to penal servitude for life. He was arrested in August and accused of revealing to foreign diplomats and journalists instructions and other confidential information issued to the German Press by the Minister of Propaganda, Dr. Goebbels. The Nazis considered the information injurious to State interests.
