STEAMER DELAYED

OBJECTION TO SEAMAN. Objecting to one of the seamen, who had been in the ship for four months, the crew of the Union Company's steamer Waiotapu refused to take the vessel to sea last evening until he was dismissed. The vessel arrived from Los Angeles on Monday and was to sail for Napier and southern ports at 10 p.m. Having no fault to find with the mait ) the master, Captain J. Rankine, refused to dismiss him, but when, at midnight, the dispute was still unsettled, the man volunteered to be paid off so that the ship could sail. Another man was signed 011 in his place, and the vessel got away shortly after 1 a.m.
