DAIRY PRODUCTION.
HAWKE'S BAY FACTORIES. BOUNDARIES ARRANGED. (By Telegraph. —Press Association.) DANNEVIRKE, this day. As a result of the recent visit to southern Hawke's Bay of Mr. '/• Jones, a member of the Executive Agricultural Commission, and members of the Dairy Board, three of the biggest factories making butter, Tamaki, Xorsewood and United, have ome to a mutual arrangement defining boundaries for the districts in which they collect cream. Tamaki also decided to close its branch clieesc factory at Ruaroa, which is now considered to bo an uneconomic unit. OPOURIAO SEASON. CHEESE 13% D, BUTTER 12V4D. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") WHAKATAXE, this day. A most successful year has been experienced by the Opouriao dairy factory. Output has been maintained and advanced prices secured. Working on a conservative basis the directors paid out an average of lOd per lb on butterfat in advance payments, and returns now to hand make it possible to pay a bonus to suppliers of 3%d, making a total of 13Vid for cheese over the season, and 2Vi d bonus for butterfat for butter-making, or a total of 1/OVi per lb. Although several European suppliers transferred to other factories, the additional supplies received from the native development area at Ruatoki enabled the output to be maintained. The bonus will be paid early next month.
