MORTGAGE REVISION.
PROPOSALS IN CAUCUS.
LONG SITTINGS HELD. (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. The mortgage adjustment proposals of the Government were before a caucus of Government members this morning, but so far nothing has been finalised, according to a statement made after the caucus by thp Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage. Mr. Savage added that in all probability a caucus would be called together to-morrow morning again to consider the proposals. The caucus has been exceptionally busy this week, and if it meets to-morrow something of a record for continuity, so far as this Government is concerned, will be established. The caucus was in session all day on Monday, all yesterday morning and part of yesterday afternoon, and for most of this morning.
