DOMESTIC SERVANTS' HOURS
It is time something was done to prevent willing domestics from being imposed upon. A typist is given a fair salary for a few hours' work daily, while a domestic is expected to work from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. and to he efficient in every branch of housekeeping. She is even very often asked to drive cars and to stay in the house in the evenincrs to mind children. She gets her keep, of course. She may be called a "help" or companion or some other fancy name, but she is tsti 11 a servant and her own sex will not let her forget it. She has scarcely any liberty, nor is she able to have the same social life as her more fortunate sisters. Surely she should be given a proper salary to enable her to save money to improve her position in life. LUX.
