OBSERVATORY WANTED.
SOCIETY AT HAMILTON. (From Our Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, Tuesday. At tlie annual meeting of the Hamilton Astronomical Society the president, Mr. A. Bryce, expressed the opinion that a site on Garden Place Hill would be an ideal spot'for an observatory, Mr. Bryce said that Mr. J. Treloar had offered to give a 14-inch telescope to the society if a building could bo provided in which to house it. A two years' programme of eye observations had been completed, and two six-inch telescopes were being made by members.
The election of officers resulted: — President, Mr. A. Brvce; vice-presidents, Messrs. H. G. Hall, J. Trenton and S. H. Rofield; secretary and treasurer, Mr. J. J. Standrin.
