QUEENSLAND NATIONAL

INCREASED PROFITS

The Queensland National Bank, Ltd., reports a net profit of £71,148 for the year ended June 30, compared with £69.692 earned in the previous year, and £67.411 in 1933-34. The dividend is maintained at 4 per cent, requiring £70.000, and £19.933 is carried forward, againrit £18.787 brought forward. The dividend is free of Queensland income tax, and without deduction in respect of l'ederal income tax payable by the bank. The report states that there lias been ;i sustained demand for accommodation over tlie past 1- months, attributable to t!ie requirements of industry following a continuance of stability in economic conditions.

NEWTON KING, LIMITED. INCREASE IN PROFITS. Newton, King, Ltd., auctioneers, etc., New Plymouth, report improved results for the year ended April 30. the net profit being £8706 higher at £18,783. This is the best result sir.."e 1930. The sum of £5495 is reserved for income tax. and the balance. £13,288, is written off against accumulated losses, which arc reduced to £13.473. No dividends have been paid since 1930, and there are six years' arrears of dividend on preference shares. The company lias a paid capital of £204,529. Liability to bank has been reduced to £54,841 to £ 102,235.

STAPLES' BREWERY. HIGHER INTERIM DIVIDEND. The directors of J. Staples and Company, Ltd.. brewers, Wellington, have declared an interim dividend of 3 per cent. The interim dividend for the past four years has been 2V& per cent. NEW REGISTRATIONS. The folfoi ving private companies have been registered in Auckland:— Sheffield Radio, Ltd., radio dealers. Capital: £3500 in 850 preference shares of £1 each, and 2650 ordinary shares of £1 each. Subscribers: A. M. Sheffield, 2050 ordinary t-hares: Mrs. Ruth Sheffield. 450 preference; W. -T. Meighan. 200 preference; C. f. Sheffield and Mrs. Amy Johanna Sheffield. 100 preference each.
