LAMENTABLY COMMON.
OFFENCES BY MOTORISTS. TWO CASES FOR TRIAL. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMERSTON NORTH, this day. With one of the. largest calendars of cases for some years set down for hearing, the quarterly session of the Supreme Court opened to-day. Mr. Justice Blair, in his charge to the grand jury, said he was Very pleased to inform them that the list of business for their attention did not contain any cases of a serious nature, so far as ordinary criminal charges were concerned. By that he meant purely criminal cases, such as involved dishonesty. There were bills in four ordinary cases and in two others which were becoming lamentably common, these dealing with alleged negligent driving, thereby causing death.
