MOTOR CYCLE NOTES.

GOLD STARS PRESENTED.

In spite of unfavourable weather the smoke concert held by the Auckland Motor Cycle Club last Tuesday evening proved successful, visitors from Rotorua, Pukekohe and Australia being present.

During the evening the following riders were presented with gold stars for having ridden at a speed greater than 100 m.p.h.—W. Grey, C. Goldfinch. B. Bray. N. Warry, J. Dale, P. Matchett, J. Mander, the present New Zealand speed champion. Mr. Harley replied to the toast of "the wholesalers," while Mr. A. Yensen (holder of two world's records) responded on behalf of the visitors.

It is reported that C. Goldberg put up second fastest time in the Junior Practice on the Isle of Man, his fastest lap being 30min lis. Over certain sections he gained fastest time of the morning. For a man having his first ride on the course this was a remarkable performance.

Speedway followers will be glad to hear that Wallv Kilmister is doing well m England, and lias joined up again with the Wembley club.
