OLYMPIC GAMES.
A FAMILY AFFAIR. BRITISHER AND SISTER COMPETING LONDON, July 19. For the first time in the history of the Olympiad .a brother ancl sister have been included in teams for the contest. Miss A. Brown, a sister of A. G. K. Brown, who, with Rampliiig and Roberts, will run in the 400 metres, lias been made a member of the British women's team as a sprinter after gaining third place in the British 100 metres championship. An Athens message states that large crowds are expected to witness the lighting of the Olympic torch, which will be carried to Berlin. The King of Greece will not attend, but will watch a special ceremony in the Stadium at Athens. , A cavalcade of charabancs and motor cars will follow the relay runners, who will be given a civic welcome in a host of Greek towns until they reach the frontier. A Barcelona cablegram indicates that 7000 athletes from most countries, including the United States, are to participate in the "People's Olympiad" at Barcelona in reply to Nazi propaganda in connection with the Olympic Games at Berlin. The exhibition grounds have been transformed into a sportsman's city. France is sending more than 1000 athletes and the Soviet 100—the largest team ever sent out of Russia.
