AUCKLAND CENTRE. TEAMS CHAMPIONSHIP. WIN FOR LYNNDALE CLUB. Boisterous weather conditions prevailed on Saturday when the Auckland Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Cycling Association decided its annual junior and teams championship. The course extended from Point Chevalier to tlie top of the Lincoln Highway Hill and back, a distance of 24 miles. For 20 miles the riders had sealed surfaces, but the four miles of metal was in a wet and treacherous condition. The teams left in the following order at intervals of live minutes, Mnnukau A, lieacli Haven, Manukau B, Lynndale, Papatoetoe, Northern, Lynndale B and Waikato. Bryant), 71.24, 8. The Lynndale team gave a great display of team work and all four finished abreast. The same team was second last year. THE JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP. The juniors left at one-minute intervals, and had to ride tlie 24 miles under strictly enforced unpaeed conditions. The results are subject to an inquiry to be held next Wednesday evening. The fastest riders were: Eric A. Langridge (Takapuna), 70m, 1; Ray c - £f ap ' pell (Manukau). 70.59, 2 ; Ron Wilson (Manukau), 71.8, 3; .1. Next Saturday entries close for the centre's August races of 43 miles to Waimauku for the seniors and 13 miles for the juniors.

AUCKLAND CLUB.

The third annual contests for the Eric Cleaver Memorial Cups were decided by the Auckland Cycle Club on Saturday at l'aiiinure. Adverse weather conditions prevailed, rain falling throughout the contests and a high wind also gave the contestants a hard ride. The fields were exceptionally good for the day, 33 starting. The late member's father, Mr. A. C. Cleaver, was present, and handed the prizes to the winners. Fifteen started in the 10 miles junior event over three laps of the circuit. Result: W. White (2.40), 30.17, 1; J. King (3.40), 31.23, 2; J. Need ha in (2.40), 30.47, 3; D. Banks (50s), 4. P. Banks (50s) recorded fastest time In 29.22. Eighteen faced the starter in the senior contest of 20 miles, a great race seeing "Itik" Hansen put up a splendid performance to win and gain the honours. Result: W. Hansen (1.0), time 58.35, 1 ; A. Brass (3.20). 00.55), 2; D. King (5.0), 62.45, 3'; A. Mackrell (5.45), 03.35, 4. W. Hansen (1.0) also recorded fastest time.

HAMILTON SPORTS CLUB,

The result of the cycle road race, conducted in wet weather on Saturday by tlie Hamilton Amateur Sports Club from Hamilton East to Bank's Corner and back, was : G. Forsyth 1, Davies 2, R. Robinson (Papatoetoe) 3. Fastest time : A. Reidy, 48.3.

ALAN SCOTT'S "HUNDRED."

SYDNEY, July 19. The amateur bicycle race of 100 inilcs, known as the "Healing Hundred," was won to-day by Alan Scott, with a handicap of four minutes. His riding time was 4h 39m 57 s. The fastest timo was secured by Charles Winterbottom off scratch in 4h 30m DS 4-ss. He finished fourth.
