ATHENIAN CLUB.

Miss Edna Craig was the hostess on Saturday evening for the Athenian Club's social gathering, held in the Amateur Operatic Society s Hall, and was responsible for a most enjoyable entertainment. The hall and stage were picturesquely portrayed as a Persian market, the wliolo scene being most colourful with Oriental hangings. An enjoyable programme was rendered by Misses Helen Harmon, Gladys Stormont, Joyce Asquith, Edna Craig, Mrs. Winifred Lane, Messrs. E. Newbury, Ernest Snell and Mr. J. O'Hara. The sketch oiven by the hostess, Messrs. H. Ratcliffe, A. Brackebusli and E. Newling was refcived with hearty applause. Mr. Trevor Sparling acted as accompanist. Among those present were: Mesdames.
