WEATHER FORECAST.
FOR CITY AND PROVINCE. The Government Meteorologist issued to the "Auckland Star" this afternoon the ■ following special weather forecast for the Auckland Province to as far south as Tauranga, Kawliia and Hamilton: — Moderate to strong northerly winds, reaching gale force in places; a change to south-west probable after about 24 hours. Weather cloudy to overcast and,mild; rain probable, with some heavy falls. Seas rough on west coast, rather rough on east. A vigorous westerly depression is crossing the Dominion and is being followed by a slight secondary. Pressure is rising rapidly again over Eastern Australia. For the Dominion. For 24 hours from 9 a.m. to-day:—■ The indications are for northerly wind? after 24 hours, and backing by west to south. The weather appears to bo cloudy and unsettled. Rain probable, heavy in places. The weather will be mild, but probably becoming colder tomorrow. Barometer falling slowly. Seas rather rough to rough. Hauraki Gulf Conditions. The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf was received from Tiritiri Island at noon to-day:— Wind, north, strong to gale; sea. rough; weather, overcast with misty rain; visibility, very poor; barometer, falling.
