HIS MAJESTY'S OJST JULY 6. Spectacular vaudeville is said to be in store for Aucklanders when the HartO'Brien Celebrity Revue Company opein its season at His Majesty's Theatre on Monday, July 0, The opening production, a lavish French production, "Birds of the Night," is notable for striking stage spectacles, unusual scenic effects and some great song and dance numbers; The company is under the direction of Sir Benjamin Fuller and boasts of a-talented cast and a thoroughly up-to-date programme of numbers that will prove popular with the audience. Leading parts are taken by Frank O'Brien and Janice Hjirt. Among the many variety items, which are claimed to be the best shown in Australia or New Zealand for some time, are some outstanding adagio and novelty dancing displays by "The Orlandos," two men and a girl. Acrobatic displays by "The Velescos," juggling by Vic Sanderson and violin solos by Boy Paul, a juvenile artist of considerable ability, are other numbers that should catch the fancy of Aucklanders. Other items are contributed by Desiree and Montigue, two dancers from the London Coliseum, Max Reddy, light comedian, Dave James, with amazing tricks with cigarettes, and an attractive ballet. Box plans open on Wednesday. • •
