QUEEN'S PORTRAIT.

CO-OPERATION REQUESTED. AUCKLAND MEETING PROPOSED. A movement is being inaugurated among the women of New, Zealand by the Mayoress of Wellington, Mrs. T. C. A. Hislop, to donate a portrait of Queen Mary to the National Art Gallery in Wellington at a cost estimated at £1000. A request for the co-operation and support in organising the collection of subscriptions in the Auckland city and province has been received from Mrs. Hislop by the Mayoress of Auckland, Mrs. Ernest Davis, who stated to-day that she proposed at an early date to call a meeting of representatives of women's organisations to consider the proposal.
