The Government Meteorologist issued to the "Auckland Star" this afternoon the following special weather forecast for t»je "Auckland Province to ai? far south &»• « Tauranga, Kawhia and Hamilton.: — Strong "north-east to northerly winds, of gale force in places. Weather unsettled* dull and misty, with widespread hc.avy rain and rivers rising in places. 'Seas rough on the east coast and moderate but rising on the west coast. '% '■ An extensive cyclonic depression is centred- off the south-west coast of the South-Island, and another depression is moving southwards from west of Norfolk Island..'" - - > For the Dominion. For 24 hours from 9 a.m. this day: — The indications are for northerly winds strong to gale in places. Expect dull weather with much mist and fog in parts. Heavy rain is t.j be expected, with rivers rising shortly. Barometer falling. Seas rough. Hauraki Gulf Conditions. The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf was received from Tiritiri Island at noon to ; day: — Wind, north-north-cast, .fre-ih; sea rough; weather, cloudy and gloomy; visibility medium; barometer falling.
