Sunbeams Visit the "Star" Office.
RATA AND CLEMATIS CLUBS There was much cheerful chatter and laughter at the "Star" Office on Saturday morning last, when 25 Sunbeams arrived for a morning's work in the sunshine. First of all came the Rata Club, all the way from New Lynn. This club, with its 12 members captained by Helen Rankin, appeared very gay, each one wearing bright little rod and white badges. Close on the heels of these Sunbeams came the 13 members of the Clematis Club, with their captain, Dallas Breess. The Clematis Sunbeams also boasted the sweetest little badges—small green cloth circles with white embroidered clematis blossoms on them. Our little sketches show what the two badges were like. Splendid work was done by these clubs, several quilts being almost completed before the members made their way homewards. Thirty-three points to the Clematis Club for its morning's work 13 points for members present and 20 for tbeir very good work. We awarded a similar number to the Rata Club for its splendid work, and 12 points for the members present, making a total of 32 for this latter club. The following Sunbeams were present at our sewing bee:— Clematis Club.—Dallas Breese (captain), Norma Flett, Mavis Killip, Betty Keesing, Jacqueline Patterson, Maude Johnstone, Elsie Showier, Winnie White, Dallas Sheland, Frances Whale, Pat Sutherland, Olga Breese and Edna Garner. Rata Club.—Helen Rankin (captain), Isabel Shove (vice-captain) > Helen Sim, Pat Sim, Marjorie Main, Jean Adnams, Winnie Main, Dorothy Bird, Ruby Sim, Naomi Deam, Peggy Conaghan and Dorothy Shove.
