ANGLICAN VESTRIES.
NORTH SHORE CONTESTS. An enjoyable evening was spent in the Xortlicote Parish Hall on Thursday, when over sixty members of six Anglican vestries—Devonport, Belmont, Takapuna, Birkenhead, Northcote and Albany—competed at bowls, billiards, ping-pong, quoits and miniature rifle shooting. The vicar of Northcote, the Rev." H. L. R. is.'ierwood, welcomed the visitors, and Mr. R. Day, of Belmont, expressed the thsnke of the guests for the hospitality they had received. The first 1936 competition for the Williamson Shield resulted as follows: — Bowling: Belmont, 4 points; Xortlicote, 3; Birkenhead, 2: Takapuna. 1;' Devonport, 0. Shooting: Xortlicote, 91 points; Belmont, 01; Birkenhead. 81; Devonport, 7o; Takapuna, Go The hisrhest individual scores were: Taylor (Xortlicote). 2D; Collins (Birkenhead), 2i; Isherwood (Xortlicote), 23. The Xorthcote vestry at present holds the shield. Two more such, gatherings will be i.eld this winter.
