CHRISTCHURCH ARTIST.

MRS. ELIZABETH KELLY HONOURED. Elizabeth Kelly, the Cliristchurch artist, has been. advised that the corporation of Lincoln, England, wishes to liold a "one-man show" of her work in the public art gallery, opening on July 27. The corporation will bear the cost of transporting the pictures, which are at present in England. They consist mainly of portraits, and some of them have been hung by the Royal Academy, the Paris Salon, the London Portrait Society and the Royal Cambrian Society. Mrs. Kelly has also been invited to exhibit her painting "Mount Sefton," which was hung at the Royal Academy last year, at an exhibition of Empire pictures to be opened at Birmingham Art Gallery this month. Mr. Cecil F. Kelly has been asked to exhibit his paintings, "Lake Wanaka," "Governor's Bay" and "Mount Cook from Tasman Valley." Mr. Kelly has also had his painting, "The Bridle Path," accepted for exhibition by the Royal Cambrian Academy. Complimentary reference to Mrs. Kelly's work has been made in the French papers "LTUustration," "Le Temps" and "Le Journal de Beaux Arts." Her portrait, "Margaret Hatlierley," is among the reproductions in the catalogue of the Paris Salon.
