WELLINGTON, this day

General Evangeline Booth has appointed Lieut.-Colonel George W. P. Grattan chief secretary of the Salvation Army in New Zealand, in succession to Colonel Orsborn, who is taking up a position as territorial commander for Scotland: and Ireland. Besides serving as a divisional commander in England, Lieut.-Colonel Grattan has served as assistant field secretary and as private secretary to Mrs. Bramwell Booth and Commissioner Hurren.
