RADIO POLICY.

NOTHING DEFINITE. SUB-COMMITTEE SET UP. STATEMENT BY MR. SAVAGE. (By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, this day. Although a report lins been circulated that the Government, in accordance with its new broadcasting policy, has acquired the Auckland radio station IZB, it can be taken for granted that nothing definite has yet been done in the matter. The Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage, informed the "St/ir" correspondent that Cabinet, at a recent series of meetings, appointed a small sub-committee of its own members to consider the method of handling B stations, and of conducting C or commercial stations, and that committee would report back to Cabinet before any final decisions were made. Mr. Savage was asked if the Government intended to advertise publicly for a director tlf broadcasting. He replied that this also would bo left until receipt of the sub-committee's report, and when it was suggested the Government might have a go outside New Zealand for such an officer, he replied: "We want the .best, and if we'have it in New Zealand that is all right." —■ ■ i
