Famous Australian Speedway Cyclist Killed. BOBBY BLAKE'S TATA*. SKID. SYDNEY, June 14. A fatality occurred to-day at the Maroubra speedway, Sydney, the victim was Mr. Robert Coombes,. aged 25, of Litligow, better known as "Bobby Blake," champion motor cyclist. He was practising when his cycle skidded on the wet surface. Among other important victories, deceased won the New Zealand gold helmet in 1032. He was a member of tho 1933 Australian motor cycle team which visited England. r In the first international Test race between England, Australia and America at Sydney he fell and fractured his skull and broke both his arms. This necessitated his retirement from competitive riding.
