SAFETY ON THE ROADS.
I wish to draw the attention of the authorities to a public nuisance, caused by the small boy and his trolley. They are a danger not only to themselves, but_ to the general public. Anywhere where there is a lull that they can get on you will find, them racing clown, and the noise is terrible, and they are all over the road. With the speed that motor cars travel it is a wonder that there are not some children killed. Of course. I do not refer to any boy that has his trolley on the road for ii legitimate cause; he has a perfect right to the use of any road. Here in the Mount Eden district they are a curse, and it is high time that a check was put on them before some poor motorist has a serious charge laid against him. We read a lot about safety first. Why not stop this? A motorist may easily kill someone on a footpatli in trying to avoid one of these youngsters. There was such an accident in Mount Eden Road some years ago, and one of the boys is still paying for it. I have had a few close shaves and I am sure other motorists have had the same. A CLOSE SHAVE.
