ICE CREAM INDUSTRY.
VALUE TO FARMERS. Subsequent to'a business meeting of the Peter's Ice Cream Company a conversazione was held in the tearooms of Messrs. Geo. Court and Co.,' which was attended by a large gathering of members and friends. Mr. P. B. Ross, chairman of directors, presided, and the guests included Mr. J. Sayegh, chairman of directors of Robinson's Ice Cream Company. The chairman stressed the fact that the ice cream industry was now thoroughly established and was of great importance to the community. His own .company purchased in the season 20,000 gallons of milk and 5000 gallons of cream, and they bought it in the flush of the season when farmers were glad to get rid of their eurplue. Mr. J. Sayegh, following on the same subject, stated, that in one form or another the ice cream industry was responsible for considerable employment. It was recognised nowadays that sce cream was a valuable food, being composed of the best ingredients.
