MORRINSVILLE VALUES. A full bench of fat pig buyers was operating at the Farmers' Co-op. Auctioneering Company, Limited's, weekly sale at Morrinsville on and coinpetition was keen throughout. There was an exceptionally heavy yarding of fat pigs, including a number o£ good quality baconers, and prices ranged up to £3 (i/. A total clearance was effected at prices in advance of those ruling at other centres. A small entry of stores also sold at advanced rates.
'Prime quality cattle were in short supply and prices were firm. Second quality and boner cows showed no alteration in price. -A medium yarding of sheep included a small proportion of fat sheep, for which competition was good, and prices showed no alteration. A medium entry of dairy cattle comprised mostly heifers. Any good quality heifers showing well forward met with good competition, but more backward heifers were not sought after. Quotations:— Dairy Cattle.—Jersey lieifers, close to profit, £6 12/6 to £7 5/; Jersey and Jersey-cross heifers, £5 15/ to £6 10/; more backward heifers, £5 to £5 10/• backward sorts, £4 7/6 to £4 15/; Friesian heifers, Juno calvcrs, £6 to £0 10/; Jersey and Jersey-cross cows, forward, £5 to £5 15/; later calvers, £3 2/6 to £4 10/. Fat Cattle.—Light fat steers, £7 S/{ prime medium fat heifers, £6 15/ to £7 1/; lighter, £4 15/ to £5 10/; billable sows, £3 10/ to £4 5/; heavy boner cows, £2 16/ to £3 3/; medium boners, £2 2/ to £2 I//; light boners, 25/ to 36/; bulls, £2 15/ to £4 15/. Sheep.—Medium fat wethers, 25/ to 26/; lighter wethers, 22/6 to 24/; medium fat ewes, A 6/9 to 18/3; tillable ewes, 14/ to 15/3; heavy fat lambs, 26/ to 27/6; medium fat lambs, 22/6 to 24/: lighter lambs, 16/6 to 19/6; forward-conditioned lambs, 15/6 to 16/6; store lambs, 12/6 to 14/3; smaller store lambs, 10/. to 11/: mixed-age breeding ewes, 24/5. DISTRICTS. WHANGAREI, Friday. For the dispersal sale of his Someview Jersey stud at Maunu to-day Mr. A. E. Phillips was unfortunate in striking unfavourable weather conditions. The attendance was fair, however, buyers being present from Rauwai, Huarau, Dargaville, Okaihau, Kaikohe and Ohaeawai. Bidding was very firm, particularly amongst previous purchasers of Mr. Phillips' stud. The sale is being conducted by the North Auckland Farmers', in conjunction with Dalgeay and Company.
