Mr. F. W. Doidge arrived in Auckland from Rotorua during the week-end.
Mr. J. G. Barclay, M.P. for Marsden, arrived from the South this morning by train.
Sir W. D. Hunt, of Wellington, arrived from the South yesterday and is a guest at the Grand Hotel.
Mr. 11. H. Sterling, late chairman of the Railways Board, returned to Wellington yesterday by car.
The Hon. H. G. R. Mason, Minister of Justice, will return to Wellington this evening by the Limited express.
Mr. F. W. Gilligan, headmaster of the Wanganui Collegiate School, and Mrs. Gilligan are visiting Auckland and are staying at the Station Hotel.
The Rev. Alexander Hodge, 8.A., 8.D., Ph.D., of Auckland, is in Christchurch to condiu t a short series of public meetings in the Oxford Terrace Baptist Church.
Mr. C. Egerton Lowe, F.T.C.L., a well-known lecturer and writer on musical subjects, has been appointed examiner for this year in practical subjects by the Board of Trinity College of Music (London).
Mr. C. Darvall, general manager of the Commercial Banking Company of Sydney, Ltd., who has been spending a few days in Wellington, has left on a motor tour through the North Island. He will sail from Auckland on his return to Sydney.
Mr. F. Beaumont Smith,' managing director of the J. C. Williamson Picture Corporation (N.%.) > Limitel, accompanied by Mr. F. J. Ansell, manager for the North Island, returned to Wellington last night by the Limited express after a visit to Auckland.
The Rev. W, R. Castle, lately of the Auckland Diocese, is taking a short course at Livingstone Collegp, England, with the intention of goingto Melanesia. He is being joined at by Mr. B. W. Moore, of St. Augustine's College. Canterbury, who has also been accepted for the new work.
Mr. B. Myers will leave by the Rangitane from Auckland on Thursday on a visit to England and the Continent. He may also visit Russia during his tour. On Saturday evening lie was entertained by members of the Pakuranga Hunt at the Pakuranga Hall, and was presented with a travelling rug.
Mr. Michael Head, A.R.A.M., a wellknown English composer and performer, will conduct practical examinations throughout New Zealand year for tlio Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, London. Mr. Head has for some years been an examiner for the Royal Schools of Music in the United Kingdom, and on their behalf has examined in Canada and the West Indies.
