KING'S FUNERAL.
Solemn Pomp in Egyptian Cortege. NOTABLES IN PROCESSION. (Received 10 a.m.) CAIRO, April 30. The body of the late King Fuad of Egypt was brought from the Palace to tlie mosque of El Rifai in solemn pomp, 1 followed by a three-mile procession of infantry, cavalry, diplomatic representatives and Cabinet Ministers. Other notables extended the procession a further two miles. The colli 11 was covered with the Egyptian flag, and King Fuad's sword and decorations were attached to it. Vast crowds wailed mournfully. At Alexandria, 10.000 people participated in a funeral procession held simultaneously with the actual funeral at Cairo.
Eiftv professional women mourners, garbed and hooded in black, received with a crescendo of wailing the coffin on its arrival at the El Rifai mosque, which the late King built for his own inter-
nient. Seven bulls, following a custom dating from the time of the Pharaohs, were slaughtered on the pavement outside the mosque and their flesh was distributed to the poor.
BOY KING LEAVES. JOURNEY FROM ENGLAND. British Official Wireless. (Received 12.30 p.m.) RUGBY, April 30. King Farouk left London this morning by \>eeia 1 train oil the first stage of his journey to Egypt. The Duke of Kent represented King Edward at the station. Earlier in the day the young King spent half an hour at Buckingham Palace with King Edward. An address of condolence on the death of King Fuad is to be moved in the House of Commons on Monday.
ELECTION RIOTS.
SEVEN KILLED IN AMBUSH. (Received 11 a.m.) CAIRO, April 30. Seven persons were killed and 20 injured in election riots in the village of Sannawa, when their opponents ambushed and fired on a band of Wafdists.
