LAND IN DEMAND.
WAIKATO FARMS WANTED.
CONFIDENCE IN INDUSTRY.
iFrom Our Own Correspondent.)
HAMILTON, Monday,
So spirited lias been the demand for land in the Waikato lately that it is reminiscent of times. Returning confidence in the farming industry is eloquently reflected in the present persistent demand.
Great interest is being shown in small holdings of from 70 to 200 acres. Dairy farms have been mainly sought, though larger properties suitable for sheep raising have also attracted attention. Piling the past three weeks a nuriibei of holdings of from 70 to 200 acres have changed hands, and it is not uncommon fof £40 per acre to be realised on them.
One farm at- Cambridge of 60 acres was sold at £70 per acre as a going concern. Hamilton agents have received numerous inquiries for good dairy farms, but they have been unable to cope with the demand. « One condition of purchasers is that properties must have modern farm buildings, although, of course, this stipulation is waived where the land is particularly attractive.
