DANGER OF ACCIDENT.

At Northcote cyclists arc allowed to come tearing, free wheel, down the concrete road on to the wharf, to the imminent peril of pedestrians. Again one only has to be oil the wharf when the boats arrive at five o'clock and after to see} cyclists mounting their machines and ijnmecliately begin to ride quickly and quite recklessly through the dozens of people walking to the buses or their homes. Cyclists should not be allowed to mount their machines until they reach the concrete road, and the authorities have been and are negligent to allow the present practices to go on. In holiday time boys come down to the wharf and skylark around to the peril and inconvenience of passengers. Last holidays, seated on a seat, waiting for the steamer, boys were playing, rushing in and out of the waiting room and climbing through the windows in and out. A man sitting near one of the windows closed it. "The action was greeted by loud derisive laughter from within, and the window roughly opened again as soon as his back was turned. He again closed the window, and again it was opened, and at last, for peace sake, he walked away. Certainly Northcote's neglected Domain should receive attention in several ways, but there are far more dangerous places near the«cliff than that the boy went over. Will those in authority take action even at this late hour to prevent .further accidents happening? If so they will earn the gratitude of a great many ladies who have to use the wharf daily, to say no"tiling of elderly men. PRO BONO PUBLICO.
